Bangladesh on the other hand struggled with their bat as they lost 4-wickets for 98 runs by the stumps which imply they now trail by 269 runs with 6 wickets remaining.

Temba Bavuma and Kyle Verreynne resumed play for South Africa on Day 2. They both were playing at 53 and 28 respectively. Khaled Ahmed caught Kyle Verreynne for an LBW at 28 as the early dismissal for the day and even sent Wiaan Mulder for a golden duck. Temba Bavuma built a 53-run partnership with Keshav Maharaj but the former got out 7 runs short of his second Test century. South Africa went slow, meandering, trying to fetch runs from every ball. The visitors managed to pull themselves back with a second new ball but couldn't capitalize much. The lower-order squeezed every possible run they could as Simon Harmer fetched 38 runs to help the scoreboard reach 367.
Spinners’ attack on Bangladesh Batsman
Bangladesh batters got a decent start against South African pacers. The openers Shadman Islam and Mahmudul Hasan got a 25-run partnership off 63 balls as Shadman Islam got out early for just 9 runs. South African spinner duo of Simon Harmer and Keshav Maharaj gave a hard time to Bangladesh batters. Durban's pitch assisted the spin duo to bowl lots of deceptive and flighted delivery. Keshav Maharaj set up the batters, thereby assisting Simon Harmer in taking wickets of Najmul Hossain Shanto, skipper Mominul Haque, and Mushfiqur Rahim off 38, 0, and 7 runs respectively. The bowlers left Bangladesh batters ragged despite decent efforts from Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Najmul Hossain Shanto. They batted for a long time but failed to capitalize to make it big for the scoreboard. Opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy remained not out at 44 off 144 at the stumps.
A tough fight awaits Bangladesh
At the end of Day 2, Bangladesh scored 98/4 and now trails by 269 runs. The day purely belonged to South Africa thanks to 49 overs superbly bowled by spinners which came forced due to bad light. Keshav Maharaj and Simon Harmer's consistent effort rewarded them with 4 big wickets. Keeping hosts in a strong spot to carry on from Day 3. Mahmudul Hasan Joy will be need a strong partnership from the other end to reduce the deficit and keep the match competitive enough. The pacers are yet to show their magic on-field which they will be eager to do so as action resumes tomorrow.
