At the time of writing, the video has over 15,500 views and fans are starting to debate whether Kholi was going to announce being captain.
AB de Villiers’ retirement clearly means he’s out of the running so the front runners look to be fellow South African Faf du Plessis and Australian big hitting all-rounder Glen Maxwell.
Kohli stepped down form the captain role after the 2021 season in a shock announcement and the new video has set Twitter alight with theories galore and fans wanting the King back in situ.
It may be that his time has definitely come to an end as skipper.
Since he took over the reigns in 2013, they have made the play offs four times under Kholi’s stewardship but only made the final once back in 2016.
This is a staggering underperformance for a team with great coaches and many of the world’s best power hitters.
The ‘RCB Unbox’ event will all be revealed on Saturday 12th. Just like you, we can’t wait!
