Rishabh Pant : The young Superstar
The Indian Premier League has given several new emerging stars and young talents. Rishabh Pant: a name that has been consistently flourishing over the past few years, taking cricket standards to the next levels.
Pant has been magnificent and flawless, with his batting breaking several records at a very young age.
Rise of Super Star
A decade ago, Pant would catch a bus from Roorkee to Delhi to report for his practice session on time. At times, he had no place to stay. He would sleep inside a Gurdwara. Nobody at that time knew this little kid would once become the face of young talents in India! At 19, he had gone through all the ups and downs of a cricketing career. A promising talent from Delhi, Pant came into reckoning after his exploits for India in the Under-19 World Cup in 2016. His heroics in the tournament didn't go unnoticed, and Delhi Capitals drafted the wicketkeeper-batsman in the auctions.
Rishabh possesses all expertise and skill set that IPL demands. He is an absolute definition of an ideal T20 batsman from all aspects. All the unorthodox shots such as scoop, paddle sweep or reverse sweep are present in his arsenal, which portrays his mastery in the game. Despite his young age, the wicketkeeper-batsman has been leveling the maestros far older than him. He is full of confidence, and his fierceness is visible in his presence on the field. Pant has been dominating all types of bowlers, whether spinner or faster. His brilliance continued enhancing throughout the years, developing himself as a captain, batsman, a keeper, and a cricketer. Initially, he had been criticized as an overconfident player, but Pant proved his potential with his enormous success. Adam Gilchrist, the legendary Australian wicket-keeper batsman, has been Pant's idol, and in fact, he chose wicket-keeping because of him.
Young age? Not a big deal for Pant!
Age has never been a matter of concern for Rishabh Pant. He earned many big records on his name at a very young age. Pant has always been ahead of his time. He was also awarded the 'Emerging Player of the Season award in 2018! Along with IPL, he had been excellent in international cricket too. He was the second-youngest player to debut for India in T20I. Being a young batsman, he also won the best batting performance of the year award 2021 from ESPN for his sensational knock of 89* against Australia in the iconic Gabba Test. He dominated many outstanding bowlers at a very young age, displaying his potential to the world. He has been delightfully leading Delhi Capitals.
Shane Watson, assistant coach of the Delhi Capitals, said, "The way Rishabh Pant leads, the way he keeps, the way he bats, he just takes the game no matter what the situation of the game is. That is the most exciting part to watch."
