Brook (111 off 150) took the blame for captain Ben Stokes' (26) dismissal shortly after lunch - at which point England were still 161 runs behind Pakistan's first innings total of 304 at 143-5 - and joined Foakes (64 off 121) in setting the score on 117 runs as the tourists made 354 all out on day two in Karachi.

Foakes' 51-run partnership with Mark Wood (35 off 41) in the eighth wicket put England ahead before both went down in attack against the spinners. At the same time, Ollie Robinson (29 off 20) made a late comeback amid some questionable Pakistani tactics and fielding as he scored 30 runs with Jack Leach.
