With every passing match of the ongoing edition, there have been players who stunned everyone with their outstanding display of cricket, whereas some of them failed to impact their performance till now. Performing well in one match is not a big deal; however, continuing the same form throughout the tournament with the same consistency is an uphill challenge, determining any player’s potential. T NATARAJAN

The left-arm pacer for Sunrisers Hyderabad has been doing his job brilliantly in IPL 2022 till now. Natarajan has clinched 15 wickets in his seven matches with an appreciable economy of 8.7. He is currently on the second spot on the purple cap list. Through his performances in the tournament till now, he has constantly been displaying his consistency with the ball. He has taken at least one wicket every match in his seven games. Natarajan bowled with a good pace. He has been striking in both powerplays and at the death of Sunrises Hyderabad. After overcoming an injury in the previous few months, the pacer has shined brilliantly and performed well throughout the league.

KL RAHUL

KL Rahul had a rough start to the league as he registered a golden duck in his first match as Lucknow Super Giants skipper. Many doubted his form due to this, but the skipper proved everyone wrong with his great class. He has been outstanding in the tournament till now as he has scored two centuries out of 8 innings. He is consistently adding his valuable contribution to the team as an opener and as a captain. KL Rahul has scored 368 runs through his bat with an outstanding average of 61.3. He is the second-highest runs scorer in the tournament now. KL Rahul’s consistency in the tournament till now indeed defines his class and level in the game.

YUZVENDRA CHAHAL

Yuzvedra Chahal is turning out to be an excellent success for Rajasthan Royals and is now proving himself as an ace card in the team with his superb bowling display this season. He has been marvellous with his magical bowling in every match for the team until now. When it comes to grabbing wickets, there is no stopping the leg spinner. The spinner has clinched 18 wickets in his seven games in the tournament. With his economy of just 7.2, Chahal has proved to be quite efficient for the franchise this season. He is the current purple cap holder and seems to be ruling the tournament with his consistency. He also became the first bowler to claim a hattrick for the season when he clinched a hattrick against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Jos Buttler

When we talk about consistency, the first name that will hit our brains would be Jos Buttler. With his phenomenal century against Delhi Capitals, the batsman completed his third century of the season. With 491 runs in seven innings- almost 200 more than the next highest- there is no doubt over who has been the batter of IPL 2022. He has scored his runs at the strike rate of 161.5. He has single-handedly scored 39% of Rajasthan Royal’s total runs. Along with three centuries, Jos Buttler also has two fifty-plus scores in the season. With his aggressive and consistent batting abilities, the batsman has the best form of his career, and his consistency this season seems unmatchable.
