Jos Buttler- the joint-fastest batsman to hit the fastest 600 runs
With every passing season of the Indian Premier League, we see various broken records that were once thought unconquerable. There have been various record-breaking performances in the fifteenth season that amazed everyone.
The Rajasthan Royals' opener, Jos Buttler, is completely ruling the tournament with his astonishing batting performance. Buttler's bat has no stopping this season as he has already scored 618 runs in his 11 innings, including three centuries and three fifties at an average of 61.80. With this, he has levelled one of the records of great batters like Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle.
The Rajasthan Royals opener became the joint-fastest batter to hit 600-plus runs in a single season when he achieved the feat in his 11th innings during Rajasthan Royals' chase against Punjab Kings. With this milestone, he equalled the record of Virat Kohli, David Warner, Shaun Marsh, and Chris Gayle of 600-plus runs. The Australian batter Shaun Marsh achieved the 600 runs milestone in the very first season of the league in 2008. Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle both achieved this feat for RCB. The former Indian skipper did it in 2016, while Gayle's 600-plus runs came in 2011. Warner achieved the feat in 2019, playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
In match 52 of the tournament, Jos Buttler didn't get going on PBKS. However, his 16-ball 30 was enough to make him stand in the elite beside Virat Kohli, David Warner, Shaun Marsh, and Chris Gayle. The English wicketkeeper-batsman is at the top position in the Orange cap chart with 618 runs, far more ahead of Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul who is in second place with 451 runs. Buttler's recent performance as the Rajasthan Royals opener has caught the eyes of spectators and experts. His three centuries in the tournament against Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, and Mumbai Indians were sensational. One more hundred in the season will put Jos Buttler equal with Kohli in the list of most centuries in an IPL season which is four centuries that he scored in the 2016 edition. Buttler also leads the tables for most fours and sixes in IPL 2022, as he has hit 37 sixes and 55 fours so far.
