He has been the key instrumental bowler for his franchise Mumbai Indians and thus retained for INR 12 crore. Hopefully,he will make it to the Purple Cap this year as he is already seen in his prime form in international matches.
Shardul Thakur: Most expensive buy for Delhi Capitals
Man with the golden arm. He made his IPL debut for Punjab XI Kings in 2015 against Delhi Daredevils and has now been signed by Delhi Capitals for INR 10.75 crore.
He played for Rising Pune Supergiants in 2017 and for Chennai Super Kings from 2018 to 2021.
He lifted the trophy wearing yellow but had his best IPL figures in a purple kit where he picked three wickets in three consecutive overs.
With all the anticipation towards Shardul, and his form he is a must to watch out for the race of purple cap.
Avesh Khan: Second highest wicket-taker in last IPL edition
He was a young prodigy bowler who impressed everyone in the previous season with his bowling capabilities while playing for Delhi Capitals.
First bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 10 lakhs in 2017, followed by Delhi Capitals in 2018-2021 for INR 70 lakhs, is now a part of Lucknow Super Giants for INR 10 crores speaks a lot about his remarkable performance in the previous season.

Harshal Patel: The Purple Cap holder IPL 2021
Harshal Patel clinched the title of most wicket-taker in the previous season of the tournament.
He took 32 wickets in 15 matches in IPL 2021, which is highest by any bowler in any season, tied up with Dwayne Bravo who took 32 wickets in IPL 2013.
The player was bought back by the franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore in a mega auction for INR 10.75 crore.
This year, under the able leadership of Faf du Plessis, he will try to replicate his performance to scalp more wickets this season.
Kagiso Rabada: The Purple Cap holder IPL 2020
Kagiso Rabada received Purple Cap in IPL 2020 for securing 30 wickets in the season. He picked up 25 wickets in IPL 2019, 30 wickets in IPL 2020 and 15 wickets in IPL 2021 and thus can safely be called one of the consistent bowlers in the league.
He debuted in IPL with Delhi Capital in 2017 for INR 5 crores, however was not retained by the franchise for the upcoming session which came as a huge shock to the fans. He was however picked up by Punjab Kings for a whopping INR 9.25 crore.
He has the capabilities to claim most wickets this season and will be one of the favourites to do so.
