IPL 2022 to host a closing ceremony after a wait of three years
The fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to conclude on Sunday, 29th May 2022. The concluding match between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals will witness a grand closing ceremony at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad
The closing ceremony is being held after a long wait of three years, and the BCCI wants to make sure that it's a grand spectacle.
According to the BCCI, the closing ceremony will help bring back the colour of the Indian Premier League. The closing ceremony will commence at 6:30 PM IST and last for an hour. Thus, the final match has been pushed to 8 PM IST. The toss will take place at 7:30 PM.
What to expect from the closing ceremony?
The closing ceremony will see a bevvy of high-profile people attending it. BCCI president Saurav Ganguly, secretary Jay Shah, IPL chairman Brijesh Patel and other Board officials will be part of the ceremony. Few political figures are also expected to grace the event. The closing ceremony will be dedicated to the 75th anniversary of India's independence, along with the journey of Indian cricketers during this time. While Bollywood star Ranveer Singh and music maestro AR Rahman will enthuse the audience, performers like Urvashi Rautela will also stage various programmes in the closing ceremony. The extravaganza will also feature Jharkhand's famous Chhau dance.
The best part of the closing ceremony is that after playing previous seasons behind closed doors, this year's closing ceremony will be staged in front of the crowd capacity, i.e. 1,32,000 people.
