IPL 2022: Harsha Bhogle's tweet about Virat Kohli goes viral
After Virat Kohli withdrew from the captaincy of RCB and the Indian Cricket Team, the fans were expecting him to be in form for this IPL, having been released from all responsibilities as a leader.
With less burden on the shoulders and less pressure on the mind, the experts expected to see Kohli in tremendous form this season. Unfortunately, it did not happen. Kohli's performance in the first few weeks of IPL has left all fans disappointed.
The former captain has already given two golden ducks in just a few matches. Kohli has made a total score of 119 runs in 8 innings giving an average of 17. Two golden ducks followed by a one against three balls in a match against Chennai Super Kings and a 12 against 14 balls in a game against Delhi Capitals have allowed the experts and fans of the game to critique and analyse his form. Given his incredible past performances in the league, the current average of 17 has been his worst average since the year 2008, when he had his worst average ever of 15.
While in 2016, Kohli scored 973 runs with seven half-centuries and four centuries, giving an average of 81, now he's giving golden ducks and hasn't scored even a single half-century the entire season. Virat Kohli is one of the few players currently playing for the country which has played the IPL since the first season. Kohli has always been a prized possession of whichever club he's played for; however, he looks more like a liability this season.
After he stepped down from captaincy, Royal Challengers Banglore still retained him, and that too for a whopping 15 Crores, hoping for him to show a remarkable performance this season. Despite being one of the costliest players in the league, Kohli has disappointed both his fans and his club. Seeing his embarrassing version in this IPL edition, Harsha Bhogle, a renowned cricket commentator of India, posted a viral tweet. He tweeted, "The games that life plays with the mightiest. #Virat." The tweet has gone viral, and so has the criticism of Virat's performance in 2022. If Kohli doesn't improve his form in the next few games, this wildfire of tweets is only expected to spread ardently.
