IPL 2022- Bowlers who conceded most runs and failed to strike for their team

Over the years, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has seen performances that have made fans sit up and wipe their eyes in bewilderment. The fans in the stadiums and those watching television have been treated to a treat on most occasions, with batters overwhelming bowlers.

In a tournament like the Indian premier league, a bowler's ability to pick up wickets at regular intervals and maintain a low economy rate becomes critical.

On the other hand, there have been days when nothing appeared to work for specific bowlers, and the batters were having a good time at their cost.

    Marco Jansen (63 Vs GT)

The South African pace bowler had a disastrous four overs yesterday in a clash against Gujarat Titans. He conceded 63 runs in his spell, which cost franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad a one-sided win.

Jansen had earned the trust of his captain, Kane Williamson. As a result, the southpaw was tasked with bowling the final over in Sunrisers Hyderabad's next game. Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan were up against him, both notorious for making cameo appearances further down the order. Chasing 22 runs off six balls was a big assignment for the two Gujarat Titans hitters in the middle.

The pacer, however, had other plans and was probably under pressure as he kept bowling full-length balls in the final over of the game, which Rashid Khan kept hitting out of the rope quite easily.

Jansen also made up the dubious record of conceding the most runs in a run-chase in the history of the IPL. The left-arm finished with figures of 4-0-63-0., surpassing his countryman Lungi Ngidi, who had leaked 62 runs against the Mumbai Indians (MI) back in 2019.

    Chris Jordan (58 Vs GT)

The premier fast-bowler for the Chennai Super Kings, Chris Jordan, set an unwanted record. He gave 58 runs in 3.5 overs against Gujarat Titans. Chris Jordan's costly period included a 25-run thumping by Rashid Khan in the 18th over, which turned the game around. Jordan fell to second place on the Most Expensive Spells table after the 25-run over, conceding 13 runs in five balls in the final over.

Siraj conceded 59 runs too, but we don't consider him as he also succeeded in taking two wickets along with 59 runs which were kind of adequate for the franchise.

    Akash Deep, (58 Vs CSK)

On Tuesday, Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Akash Deep had a tough day when playing Chennai Super Kings at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. The right-arm seamer gave up 58 runs in his four overs, taking a thrashing from Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa, who helped his team reach 216/4 in 20 overs. When asked to bowl the 18th over, Akash gave up 24 runs, including four wides, turning it into a 10-ball over.

After that match, he was benched and will probably not get a chance to play for upcoming games of the season.

    Daniel Sams (50 Vs KKR)

Daniel Sams was taken into remand by Pat Cummins during the encounter of Mumbai Indians with Kolkata Knight Riders as he conceded 35 runs in a single over, which is one of the most expensive overs in history of IPL. The Australian bowler was trying to bowl yorkers but kept missing it, leading to a bizarre total of 50 runs in his three overs of the spell.

He was substituted for three matches before he reclaimed himself against Chennai Super Kings as he took four wickets in the game with only 30 runs in 4 overs.

    Tymal Mills (54 Vs LSG)

Against the Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians deployed six bowlers. England's fast bowler Tymal Mills proved to be the most expensive of these bowlers. Mills has been looking forward to playing in the IPL for four years. In the 2017 IPL, Mills was a Royal Challengers Bangalore team member.

He now has a shot after this season. On the other hand, Mills is proving to be a dud in the IPL. Mills bowled three overs for 54 runs at an economy rate of 18.00 against Lucknow. The Lucknow batters scored nine fours and two sixes on Mills' bowling in this encounter.
