IPL 2022 : Best Batting strike rate till now
The fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League has been turning interesting with every passing match, and among the games, till now, we have seen many furious performances
Some batsmen have been brilliant and have maintained their staggering strike rate in the tournament. Let's look at some of the batters with the highest strike rate in the current edition of IPL.
Pat Cummins
Pat Cummins is one of the key factors in Kolkatta Knight Rider's middle solid order, along with Andre Russell. The all-rounder is in second place in the list of highest strike rates, with a phenomenal strike rate of 286.3. In the four innings he has played, Cummins has scored 63 runs with an average of 21. He has been destructive whenever the team needed him the most. Cummins is a perfect blend of power and timing! In the match against Mumbai Indians, Cummins smashed his fifty in just 14 balls and thus levelled KL Rahul's record for the fastest fifty. The batsman also registered the joint-fastest fifty in the history of IPL this season. From out of nowhere, Pat Cummins turned out to be the chief architect of KKR's stunning victory over MI by five wickets with a whirlwind 14-ball half-century.
Shashank Singh
The 30-year-old uncapped Indian cricketer Shashank Singh stunned everyone in the match against Gujarat Titans with his powerful batting performance. The inning was also his very first IPL innings. He recorded the highest strike rate in an IPL inning by an Indian and the second-highest strike rate in an IPL inning overall. Shashank came to bat for the first time in his IPL career during the 19th over of that innings. The right-handed batter hit a four on the very first ball of his IPL career. Then, in the final over of that innings, Shashank smashed three sixes in the last three successive balls. While Shashank Singh ended that innings with a strike rate of 416.66, it was the second-highest strike rate in an IPL inning, where the batter scored at least 25 runs. Of the two innings played, he has accumulated a strike rate of 200.00 and an average of 40.00.
Rashid Khan
Rashid Khan is known to be one of the best leg-spinners worldwide, especially in the shorter format of the game. However, Rashid is also shining with his bat in IPL 2022, playing the game-changing knocks in the season. In the nine matches in the tournament, Rashid has scored 71 runs with a strike rate of 197.22. No one expected such performance from the spinner, whereas Rashid is doing his job as a pinch-hitter quite well. His game-changing knocks against Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad were a stunner for any cricket fan. Rashid had scored two ducks in the first five games for his franchise. In the match against CSK, the team was chasing a target of 170 runs. David Miller was the rescuer for the team with his half-century, but Rashid played a perfect supporting act by playing a cameo. His knock was so effective that it turned the game on its head, and a challenging target was within reach of the team.
Dinesh Karthik
In the absence of Royal Challengers Banglore's most valuable asset, AB de Villiers, Karthik's defiant heroics were the most talked-about aspect in the first half of the season. He has scored 218 runs in nine matches with an incredible average of 54.50 and an astonishing strike rate of 194.64. With this tremendous striking stat, he stands fourth on the list. Karthik has finished games with sheer consistency and steadied RCB's sinking ship more than once this season. His sense of cricket and ability to remain calm in critical situations make Dinesh Karthik different from other batters.
