India absolutely crushed the West Indies women's team in their third league match after getting a brutal defeat from Kiwis. India won by a huge margin of 155 runs by bowling out Windes on a mere total of 162 in 40 overs.

After winning the toss and India batting first, the team was struggling at 78/3 in 13.5 overs. It was then when opener Smriti Mandhana was joined by vice-captain Harmanpreet Kaur on the crease.

Outstanding tons from Smriti Mandhana (123) and Harmanpreet Kaur (109) helped India post an above par score of 317/8 against West Indies in their third game at the 2022 ODI Women's World Cup being played in Seddon Park, Hamilton.

    Crucial partnership

After settling in, the left-right duo dominated West Indies bowlers, smashed them for boundaries on regular intervals, and added 184 runs between them. Cricket fans took on social media, reminiscing about them as Virat and Dhoni.

To begin with, Kaur wasn't in great form, and her place was constantly under the scanner. Despite the lean patch, she made her presence count in the warm-up game against South Africa with a fabulous ton. She fought a lonely battle against New Zealand with a superb knock of 71 off 63 balls. The knock went in vain as the Indian team was handed a massive defeat of 62 runs by the Kiwis.

"Cometh the hour, cometh the Kaur."  Wasim Jaffer celebrates Kaur's ton.

Harmanpreet's knock made her the first and the only player to score 3 centuries in the Women's ODI World Cup. It was the second century for Vice-captain Mandhana in the World Cups. Her previous ton came in ICC Women's ODI World Cup 2017. Moreover, it was her second ODI hundred against the West Indies.

"Goddess through the off-side. Terrific innings under pressure well-played @mandhana_smriti." said Jaffer.

Team India will now play its fourth match against England in a Day/Night match on 16th March 2022 at Mount Maunganui. England have lost all of their games in this World Cup and will look to open their account against India.
