Five openers with highest strike rate in IPL 2022

An opener with a high strike rate can score quickly, thus giving a quick start to a team's inning. In IPL, we see many quality openers scoring well for their teams, although only a few have the ability to achieve big scores from the beginning. Let us have a look at some of the openers who are absolutely brutal with their bat when it comes to power hitting and strike rate.

Mayank Agarwal- 130.5

From being an underrated batsman to leading a team in the world's most formidable T20 league, Mayank's journey had been quite sensational. Mostly known for his aggressive and technical batting, Mayank Agarwal is a destructive opener who has the potential to smash the bowlers from the very first ball itself. In the 2022 edition of the league, leading Punjab Kings, Mayank's strike rate had been pretty appreciable. In the five matches played for the franchise, Mayank has a strike rate of 130.5 due to his power-hitting skills. Although his average has been relatively low, it does not define the player's batting as the team has just played five matches. Mayank Agarwal also scored a half-century in the match against Mumbai Indians, which was a huge contribution to Punjab King's victory against Mumbai Indians.

Shubhman Gill- 152.6

Unfortunately, he missed his century by just four runs, but the player still bagged the player of the match award. He has scored fifty-plus scores twice in the season, and we can surely expect him to score and hit big in upcoming matches.

Jos Buttler- 152.8

Jos Buttler is a name that has been consistent throughout the years as a batter with his striking performances. The English wicketkeeper-batsman has made a great contribution to Rajasthan Royal's performance this year. Robin Uthappa- 163

Although CSK's performance has been quite disappointing this season, the man who stole everyone's attention with his batting display was Robin Uthappa. With his blend of monstrous power-hitting ability and colossal experience in the game, Robin Uthappa has been sensational with his bat. In five matches in the season, he has scored 194 runs with an impressive strike rate of 163 and a considerable average of 38.80. His 88 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore contributed well in sealing their first victory over Bangalore. This season, the right-handed batter has been quite aggressive from the first ball and has scored two fifty-plus scores for Chennai Super Kings.

Prithvi Shaw- 170.2

With a jaw-dropping strike rate of 170.2, Prithvi Shaw is the young opener topping the list! The right-handed youngster has been dominating the opponents brutally with his destructive batting performance. Prithvi Shaw has been an essential asset for Delhi Capital's batting line-up, giving them a thunderous start and hitting the ball over the ropes right from the first ball. With his phenomenal power hitting and technique, the youngster has scored 160 runs in his four innings with an average of 40. The player had been performing pretty well as an effective opener for the franchise for the last couple of years. Looking at his overall stats and current form, we can hope for some great innings from Shaw this season.
