England vs Pakistan 1st Test, Day two highlights, dead pitch, and high score
Pakistan fought back well on the second day and showed England how difficult it would be to win this Test
Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique provided a solid opening stand for Pakistan as they ended Day 2 with 181/0. It leaves their side 476 runs behind England in the first Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Earlier, England had scored 657 runs in their first innings before being bowled out. Harry Brook scored 153 runs, while Zak Crawley scored 122 runs. Ben Duckett (107) and Ollie Pope (108) also passed the three-figure mark.
Day 3 is considered the most eventful day of a Test match, and it will be interesting to see what is in the shop. If the pitch continues to be as flat as it was on the first two days, we expect little to move.
England will have to develop a better strategy to break this stubborn opening partnership, and they hope their fast bowlers can get the old ball to swing back.
Pakistan will be overjoyed as long as Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq continue to score runs, and they know they have a sturdy middle order to cause extra havoc for the English bowlers.
