Rinku Singh denied DRS after 15 sec

One such drama unfolded in a clash of Kolkata Knight Riders against Sunrisers Hyderabad when KKR's Rinku Singh was denied a DRS. The batter has been contributing well to the team with his bat. However, he had a forgettable outing for five off six balls by T Natarajan.

In the 12th over of the KKR innings, Rinku Singh was struck plumb LBW by Natarajan. Despite being a perfect yorker, with the ball hitting the middle and off stump, the umpire took time before raising his finger. Sam Billings, who was on the non-striker's end, signalled for DRS immediately. Following this, Rinku Singh got into a discussion with Sam Billings about whether they should go upstairs or not. And by the time they decided, they failed to take review with the timer going down to zero.

This left the young batter infuriated, who started arguing with the umpire about being denied the opportunity to challenge the decision; however, umpire Anil Kumar Chaudhary walked to the batters to say they could not take the review anymore. The yorker was too perfect to even get a review in favour of Rinku Singh even if DRS was taken in time.

Twitter was in no time filled with the hilarious reaction to the incident:

India Fantasy tweets, "Goat Rinku stopped play tonight, he's massive #IPL2022".

Another fan wrote, "Worst umpiring again. He was too late to give out. Also, there was confusion running. Left no time for taking DRS. Whose fault?"

One of the fans explained the situation and tweeted, "Listen to commentary, please don't post half info. Billings signalled review, and Rinku thought it will be reviewed. DRS law states

While fielding, the Captain must take the call

While batting, the batsman involved in the decision must take the call.

    That's was the confusion."
