Dugout News: 154 kmph Fastest delivery of the season
Chennai Super Kings opener Ruturaj Gaikwad equaled the legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar’s record on Sunday in a clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He became the joint-fastest Indian to score 1000 runs in the history of the Indian Premier League
He achieved the feat against pacer Marco Jansen in the first ball of the sixth over when he reached the four-digit mark. Tendulkar and Gaikwad achieved the milestone in their 31st inning, followed by Suresh Raina and Rishabh Pant, earned in 34 and 35 innings, respectively.
“Milestone Alert: - Ruturaj Gaikwad completes 1,000 runs in the IPL. He became the joint-fastest Indian to achieve this feat along with Sachin Tendulkar.” tweeted WhistlePodu Army

154 km: Fastest delivery of the season
Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Umran Malik has made quite a name for himself this season by continuously clocking 150 km -plus deliveries. Against CSK, Malik was at it again, bowling at an excess of 150. This was even fast, 154 KMPH. He did it twice against Ruturaj Gaikwad and then against MS Dhoni.
“Without a doubt, I will take Umran to Australia. Without a doubt! India has everything, but they don’t have a pace bowler. Bumrah is quick but he isn’t expressed like Umran. Get him involved as soon as possible. He is easily good for international cricket,” quoted former England off-spinner, Graeme Swann.
Spoon-feeding doesn’t help in captaincy, remarked MS Dhoni.
Ravindra Jadeja renounced CSK’s captaincy back to MS Dhoni before the fixture of CSK with Sunrisers Hyderabad. MS Dhoni started his second stint as CSK skipper by defeating SRH by 13-runs.
When asked about captaincy in the post-match conference, Dhoni said, “Spoon-feeding doesn’t really help captain, on the field you have to take those crucial decisions and you have to take responsibility for those decisions,”
Dhoni helped transition the captaincy role to Jadeja in the first two games so that he could learn what captaincy is. But things didn’t go well with Ravindra Jadeja as it kept affecting him as an on-field performer.
“What I felt was it was having an effect on his [Ravindra Jadeja’s] game when he was going in to bat or his preparation. Because I would love to have Jadeja as a bowler, batter, and fielder. Even if you relieve captainship and if you are at your best and that’s what we want.” he further added.
