Cricket T20 World Cup: West Indies in search of the right squad
West Indies is searching for an ideal squad for the T20 World Cup 2022 in October hosted in Australia
They won their maiden T20 WC title in 2016, defeating England in the final. Earlier this year, they won the 5-match T20I series against England by 3-2 but got defeated against India by 3-0 right after that.
Following the retirement of their skipper Kieron Pollard from international cricket, West Indies have made numerous changes to the squad for the three-match T20 series against Bangladesh. Nicholas Pooran was announced as the captain and Rovman Powell vice-captain for the team. For finding the perfect team and scrutinizing players, they have rested Jason Holder and sidelined Fabian Allen, Darren Bravo, Shai Hope, and Sheldon Cottrell to welcome Obed McCoy, Devon Thomas, and Keemo Paul for the matches against Bangladesh.
Nicholas Pooran had recently led his team to win a two-match test series against Bangladesh by 2-0 and will play the limited-overs series from 2nd July. The winning momentum that West Indies is carrying will boost them for the upcoming World Cup.
Kemar Roach reached the milestone of 250 wickets in Test cricket
Legendary West Indian fast bowler, Michael Holding hailed Kemar Roach on reaching the milestone of 250 wickets in Test cricket. Kemar Roach moved ahead of Holding on the all-time West Indies list, with the magic moment coming in the Bangladesh second inning when he had Tamim Iqbal caught behind by Joshua Da Silva, which sparked celebrations at the ground.
West Indies bowling attack will be key in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022.
