Bangladesh was defeated by hosts Zimbabwe in the first one-day international (ODI) of the three-match series on Friday, August 5, in Harare.
High scores were scored in the first game. Bangladesh scored a mammoth 303 after being asked to bat first, losing only two wickets. As the hosts struggled to pick up wickets at regular intervals, their top four batters scored the fifties.
Innocent Kaia and Sikandar Raza both smashed centuries to help their side chase down the massive total in the penultimate over. Bangladesh's bowlers tried hard but only managed five wickets, handing Zimbabwe an early lead in the series.
The two teams will meet again in the second ODI of the series, with Zimbabwe attempting to win the series and write history. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will look to seek revenge and come back stronger to level the series.
Zimbabwe VS Bangladesh, 2nd ODI - Pitch Report
The bowlers received more support during the T20I series, but in the opening ODI, the batters amassed runs without taking many wickets. As a result, the pitch will most likely favor the batters this time, and they will look to capitalise by scoring big. This game is expected to be a high-scoring thriller as well.
