Bangladesh will be hampered by their loss in the T20I series when they face Zimbabwe in the first of three One-Day Internationals. It will be an exciting battle as the hosts look to maintain their winning streak and dominance over the visitors. Bangladesh, on the other hand, would seek to plan the perfect act of vengeance in order to gain an early advantage.
Zimbabwe pulled off an unexpected series victory, defeating Bangladesh 2-1 in the recently concluded T20I series. They won the first game and took the lead, but the visitors rallied to tie the series at 1-1. The series-clinching game was a thrilling contest.
While it appeared that Bangladesh was in control, Zimbabwe's Ryan Burl changed the game in six balls. He scored 34 runs off an over, hitting Nasum Ahmed for five sixes and a four.
While the hosts were hanging by a thread at one point, Burl's knock assisted them in setting a defendable target of 156 runs, and they went on to win the match by 10 runs after restricting Bangladesh to 146 runs during their chase.
However, Bangladesh's team is very strong for 50-over matches, and they will control the game from the start. The visitors are coming off series victories against South Africa and the West Indies, two of the best teams in international cricket. They would like to extend their ODI series winning streak to three series wins in a row.
Zimbabwe VS Bangladesh, 1st ODI - Pitch Report
The two T20Is that followed the first game were better for the bowlers, and the players struggled to rise to the occasion in the middle overs. As a result, Harare's surface will not help batters. A score of 250-270 runs is a defendable target.
