Cricket News: Zimbabwe VS Bangladesh - 105 runs comfortable win by Bangladesh to end the tour
Sikandar Raza got bowled out on a duck, and Zimbabwe lost the third ODI by 105 runs. But Zimbabwe will still be happy as they have won the ODI series by 2-1 after the T20I series against Bangladesh
Chasing a total of 256 hosts had a horrible start. They were reduced to 83/9, but the last wicket 68 runs partnership between Victor Nyauchi and Richard Nagarava delayed the inevitable result. Bangladesh debutant Ebadot Hossain brought back a little glory to the team with his two back-to-back wickets, which broke the strength of the host's batting line-up.
"We have been carrying him (Ebadot Hossain) for a long time, I was surprised he wasn't included in the playing XI. Luckily, he was available for this last game, and he delivered.", said Bangladesh Captain Tamim Iqbal.
Bangladesh bowlers were very comfortable in taking wickets. The top 5 batters of Zimbabwe were back into the pavilion, scoring a total of 31 runs together. With little fight back from the tailenders, the host reduced the margin gap before giving up the final wicket.
After getting invited to bat first, Bangladesh lost the first three wickets in eight balls and was reduced to 47/3 from 41/0 by the end of 10 overs. An aggressive inning from opener Anamul of 76(71) got support from Mahmudullah's 39(69).
Anamul got out, But the real game changed when Innocent Kaia dropped Afif Hossain early in his innings, and he scored 85*(81) with some beautiful shots. Bangladesh scored a decent total of 250 runs, proving to be more than sufficient for their bowler to defend.
"We have been always talking about having a positive attitude. We came out into the ODIs from the T20Is with the same kind of attitude. We do have a few injuries in the camp, hopefully, the boys will come along nicely (before the series against India)." said Regis Chakabva
Zimbabwe will be happy with the series win, but they should not forget the genuine concern with their batting, and India is the one touring next for the ODI series. Bangladesh team didn't have a happy tour, but they'll be flying back pleased with the last match dominating victory.
