Cricket News: ZIM VS BAN 1st T20 - Match Preview
When Zimbabwe takes on Bangladesh in three Twenty20 Internationals beginning Saturday, there will be an air of expectation and anticipation at Harare Sports Club
On Saturday, Zimbabwe will host Bangladesh in the first T20I at Harare Sports Club in Harare. Zimbabwe qualified for the T20 World Cup 2022 after defeating Papua New Guinea earlier this month in the semi-finals. They defeated the Netherlands in the qualifier tournament finals and will now look to get off to a winning start against Bangladesh.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, finished their recent West Indies tour by winning all three ODIs but losing the three-match T20I series 2-0. The Bangladesh management decided to rest regular T20I captain Mahmudullah for this tour and instead appointed wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan as captain. Mahmudullah was struggling with form and results, and reports indicate that Shakib Al Hasan will be named captain for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022.
