North Group, Match Review- Northamptonshire Steelbacks vs Lancashire Lightning and Durham vs Yorkshire Vikings
Northamptonshire Steelbacks vs Lancashire Lightning
Northamptonshire made light of missing Chris Lynn to thrash table-toppers Lancashire Lightning by seven wickets to climb to the second spot with 13 points, lagging due to NRR.
Lancashire struggled to get through their innings on batting first as wickets kept falling regularly. Skipper Dane Vilas was the top-scorer with a 22-ball 38, whereas it was Tim David's blinders to smash four sixes off successive balls that added momentum to the inning and took the total to 153/7.
As the total was not too difficult to chase on the pitch, it looked even easier as Ben Curran and Josh Cobb scored 50 and 57 runs to get to their targets with 22 balls and seven wickets to spare.
Durham vs Yorkshire Vikings
Adam Lyth's blistering half-century helped Yorkshire Vikings to register a comfortable 65-run victory over Durham at Chester-le-Street. Yorkshire's 201 was a mammoth total for Durham to chase, leading them to the sixth defeat of the season, whereas the former climbed to the fourth spot. Adam Lyth's 46-ball 81, followed by 48 from Finn Allen and an unbeaten 48 from Tom Kohler-Cadmore, helped put the total of 201/5 on the scoreboard as Scott Borthwick took a three-wicket haul.
In reply, Michael Jones and Ollie Robinson tried to anchor the innings scoring 34 and 44 runs, respectively. They tried keeping Durham in run-chase; however, Jack Shutt's further restricted to dismiss Michael Jones, Olle Robinson, Ashton Turner, and Liam Trevaskis put a significant halt to their inning. The bowlers left them struck at 136/8 in 20 overs to register a 65-run victory.
