Cricket News: The Super 4 games of the Asia Cup 2022 have been thrilling so far!
Asia Cup 2022 started in full swing on 27th August 2022. So far, the tournament has been full of ups and downs for teams. Afghanistan and India, who began the mega-event with a banging win against opponents, are the teams to be knocked out from the finals race
Super 4 clash commenced on 3rd September 2022. And since then, we have seen four utmost thriller matches, arguably the best cricket tournament in a long time. Every team matched up and equalled their rivals. Pitches have been fantastic to support nail-biting finishes at the end, making cricket win.
Starting from Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka, everyone expected Afghanistan to emerge on top in the group stage. Sri Lanka gave it back to seal a four-wicket win with five balls remaining while chasing a massive target of 176.
No one missed India Pakistan's last ball thriller. With only seven runs to defend in the final over, Arshdeep Singh held nerves to take the game to 2 runs needed in 2 balls after striking a crucial wicket in the last over. However, he missed a yorker on the penultimate ball, which Iftikhar used and grabbed two runs to register a 5-wicket win.
Much like the India- Pakistan, India- Sri Lanka encounter resembled the previous match. With seven runs and six balls, Arshdeep held his nerves not to concede any boundary and take it down to 2 needed in 2 yet again. Attempting to take a runout wicket on the penultimate ball, an overthrow resulted in 6 wicket win for Sri Lanka with a ball to spare.
Adding to the thriller, Afghanistan took the game with a target of 131 to defend to the last over. With the last wicket remaining with Pakistan, Naseem Shah edged the bowler to take his team to the finals with four balls remaining.
