Despite the absence of multiple key players, the Kiwis have maintained a perfect record on this tour thus far. Ireland ran them close on several occasions, but they came out on top each time.
The Netherlands also threatened them in the first T20I, but New Zealand once again held their nerve to win by 16 runs.
The hosts bowled brilliantly, with Shariz Ahmad leading the charge with figures of 2/15. Logan van Beek and Tim Pringle were also on the lookout for the opposition's run rate.
Martin Guptill led the Kiwis in scoring with a 45-run knock. James Neesham's 32 off 17 balls and Ish Sodhi's 19 off 10 balls propelled them to 148/7 in 20 overs after even 140 seemed out of reach at one point.
In response, Blair Tickner and Ben Sears annihilated the Netherlands' batting order. They were reduced to 15/3 before losing three wickets in quick succession from 64/3 to 93/7. Tickner and Sears combined for seven wickets in a fantastic double-punch.
Bas de Leede, on the other hand, made a valiant effort to keep his team in the hunt. His 66-run knock kept New Zealand on edge throughout, and at one point, it appeared that the Netherlands would beat the Kiwis. But it was not to be, as they fell 16 runs short.
