Cricket News: India's Asia cup squad is a teaser for the T20 World Cup 2022
On Monday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced India's squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022. Rohit Sharma will lead the team in the mega event, beginning on 27th August 2022, in the United Arab Emirates
India's campaign in the tournament will kick start with a clash with arch-rivals Pakistan on 28th August, and team India will be eager to avenge their defeat in ICC T20 World Cup 2021 against them.
Hits and misses in the squad
The squad announced for Asia Cup witnessed a significant drawback in the form of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel being ruled out of the tournament due to injuries, thus, opening the door of opportunity for Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh.
On the other hand, KL Rahul returned as the vice-captain of the Indian team after being out of action for months, and the side is going with two wicketkeeper-batters this time, Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik.
