Cricket News: India VS WI T20 - Obed McCoy's 6-wicket and Brandon King's 68 wins it for the Windies
With ten required in 6-balls, what if the last over was given to Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and the over didn't start with a no-ball? West Indies have beaten India in a T20I after three year
A low scoring turned thriller match won by the host by five wickets.
The match was delayed for three hours because of the luggage arriving.
After winning the toss, West Indies invited India to play, and it was all Obed McCoy's show. The pitch at Warner Park was a bit sticky in starting, and after taking India's skipper Rohit Sharma on the first ball of the match, he destroyed the complete Indian batting line-up.
India failed to bat complete 20 overs at a score of 138 runs. Obed McCoy took his career-best 6/17. He ended hopes for India to post a respectable total when he took Dinesh Karthik and two more wickets in the 19th over.
"This is for my mom. She is sick, and she has motivated me to be a better player. The first ball wicket put pressure on the batsmen.", Obed McCoy said on awarded Man of the Match.
Chasing a small total, West Indies started steadily without losing any wicket in the powerplay. Brandon King led from the front. But the Indian bowling attack showed their best composure. Tight, disciplined bowling from Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, Ashwin, and a superb display of potential from Arshdeep Singh in the death-over pulled the match from 38 runs in 30 balls to 10 runs in 6 balls situation.
Devin Thomas, who was struggling during this time, turned things around for West Indies in the end. He scored 11 runs in his first 13 balls and 20 runs in the successive six balls. With the winning four, he took West Indies to a five-wicket win, levelling this 5-match series by 1-1.
Nicholas Pooran said, "I can finally breathe now. It has been a tough summer for us. We lost a few close games and nearly made a mess of this as well."
Both teams will play their last match of this series at Caribbean land today before moving to Lauderhill, Florida, for their remaining two match fixtures. India will look to win this third match, while West Indies hope to continue their game with some improvement regarding the batter's responsibilities.
