Cricket News: India VS WI series review - India's gain from the WI tour
Team India, led by Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid in the last few series, has been one of the most aggressive T20I squads in the world. Several experiments and testing their large talent pool are giving India positive results
Rohit Sharma, as full-time Captain, has won back-to-back eight bilateral series as Captain and will be moving next for the Asia Cup. Here are a few points which tell where India is headed to Rohit and Dravid's new mantra
Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid's duo in the role of leadership has been seen focusing on giving players increased freedom, security and communication.
On the approach taken by Captain and coach Hardik Pandya said, "A lot of credit goes to him and Rahul Dravid the way they have got the team together and making sure a lot of positive mindset comes in, and players are feeling secure; they are not looking over their shoulder."
The team is looking to play a more attacking and aggressive game even on slow surfaces without thinking much about losing wickets. This mindset worked for the teammates as they have performed exceptionally well in all the recent series of T20 formats.
Avesh Khan flourishing with the trust shown
India's medium pacer Avesh Khan faced an enormous lash for getting a combined figure of 1/78 in the previous two games. However, he made a match-winning comeback to return with figures of 2/17 in the 4th T20I.
He bowled and caught Brandon King, and Devon Thomas miscued his leg-cutter to hand Avesh Khan his second wicket.
Avesh Khan said, "Feel really good since I didn't do well in the last two matches. I bowled hard lengths. I just talked to my coaches and Captain. They said, 'We are backing you.'"
