Cricket News: India VS West Indies - 2nd T20 Match Preview
India will face West Indies in the second T20I of the five-match series on Monday at Warner Park Stadium in St Kitts, hoping to extend their lead to 2-0. (August 1)
The Rohit Sharma-led India demolished the hosts in the first T20 by 68 runs. India put on a dominating display with bat and ball and have taken a 1-0 lead in the five-match T20 series. Meanwhile, for the hosts, abject surrender with the bat in hand yet again was the catalyst for the loss. In the second T20I, West Indies will look to make amends with the bat in hand.
India checked the majority of the boxes and put on a commanding performance. Skipper Rohit Sharma and finisher Dinesh Karthik led the charge. Arshdeep Singh, R Ashwin, and Ravi Bishnoi bowled well with the ball. The management would have been pleased with Ashwin and Karthik's performance. In T20Is, both players demonstrated their class and form. Except for Rishabh Pant's performance in T20Is, India has nothing to be concerned about.
West Indies batting, on the other hand, imploded yet again. Even Shimron Hetmyer struggled with the bat after making a comeback. The hosts' pursuit of 191 never really took off. The Pooran-led team struggled against spin, but it was enough to win. West Indies will aim for better performance with the bat in the second T20.
