Cricket News: England VS South Africa - Rilee Rossouw's 96 wins it for SA
A payback from South Africa to win the second T20I by 58 runs after England won the first T20I by 41 runs. The 3-match series will now get the result in a decider on 31st July at Southampton
"We'll take a win, a great turn-around tonight, we took our catches and the batters were phenomenal. Great performance." South Africa Captain David Miller on winning the game.
After winning the toss, England invited South Africa to bat first. Proteas felt this was a perfect opportunity to make up for the lapses in the series opener. Though they lost Quinton De Kock early, they still put a 207/3 massive total on board with the help of half-centuries from Reeza Hendricks and Rilee Rossouw. Rilee missed his century by four runs.
England got bowled out again with 20 balls to spare. Every time England's openers fail, the team stumbles. Proteas did their homework well. Tabriz Shamsi, who was attacked last game, took three wickets by giving 27 runs. He became the main reason for breaking the backbone of the hosts when he took two wickets in the 11th over, bringing England to 92/5.
Everyone in England's top order got a small start but failed to capitalize. Captain Jos Buttler (29), Moeen Ali (28), Jonny Bairstow (30), and Liam Livingstone (18) none could bat longer as Proteas took wickets in regular succession and were well complimented by their fielding.
Andile Phehlukwayo was a little expensive but ended up taking three wickets, Lungi Ngidi with two wickets and one wicket each by Keshav Maharaj and Kagiso Rabada made sure England stayed in pressure.
With two dominating performances from both teams, this series is already a hit with 1-1. The series will get a winner on the 31st at Southampton. Who will dominate the decider will be an exciting contest after both teams showed their capabilities in the two matches played
