On December 13, the Sydney Thunders and Melbourne Stars will play their season-opening match at Manuka Oval. 61 games will be played at 17 locations, including three new ones, for the BBL 2022–23 season.

    • 56 league games and 5 playoff games will be played in the BBL in 2022-23.
    • At Manuka Oval, the season's opening match will feature former champions Sydney Thunders and Melbourne Stars.
    • All teams will play seven home games after two interrupted seasons, as the schedule barely overlaps with international schedules.

BBL 2022–2023 will be held at 17 locations

The season will be spread across 17 different locations, including three new stadiums: North Sydney Oval, Cazalys Stadium in Cairns, and Lavington Sports Ground in Albury. With South Africa's cancellation of their ODI series against Australia, a number of superstars will be available for the competition in the upcoming season.

61 games, 7 of which each team will play at home

After a two-year sabbatical for Covid-19, the BBL season will resume as usual with all eight clubs playing seven home games and seven away games. There will be 56 league games played this year, with each side playing every other team twice.

Thus, the League phase will have a total of 56 games; the playoff rounds will come next. The playoffs will consist of five games. On February 4, there will be an Eliminator, a Qualifier, a Knockout, and a Challenger.
