Cricket News: ICC ranking-Dinesh Karthik jumps up 108 positions, Ishan Kishan makes the list of top 10
As the new ICC ranking is out, Dinesh Karthik and Ishan Kishan are two Indian batsmen who have shown an incredible performance
While Karthik showed a massive jump of 108 places to reach the 87th position in the current ICC T20 ranking, Ishan Kishan has moved up one spot to hold the 6th position on the ranking list. Both Karthik and Kishan showed remarkable performance in the recent T20 series against South Africa. Kishan scored the highest runs with 206 runs and two half-centuries. On the other hand, Karthik has also been in great form since IPL 2022, and his remarkable performance against South Africa resulted in the massive jump that he has made.
Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan Batsman, is in the second spot by jumping up one place. Aaron Finch, the Australian opener, has also moved up one place, now holding the fifth position.
Virat Kohli still holds the 21st position, and no improvement this time as he skipped the series against South Africa. Ishan Kishan is the only Indian batsman to hold a position in the top 10, with the first place held by Pakistan's skipper Baba Azam. The two Indian skippers, Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer, on the other hand, came down one spot each and now hold ranks 18 and 19, respectively.
As far as the T20 bowling rankings are concerned, Josh Hazlewood continued to hold the first place. Yuzvendra Chahal, the Indian spinner, jumped up three spots to secure the 23rd position on the list. Chahal is the only Indian bowler to make a three-place jump, being the highest rank jump this time. This jump in place is owed to the six wickets Chahal took during the South Africa series.
Rashid Khan, the Afghanistan spinner, moved up one position, now holding the third place on the list, while Sri Lankan Wanindu Hasaranga also jumped up one spot to now have the sixth position.
