Cricket India: Multiple team schedules and coaches for the year 2022. Will it gain from it?
As the level of cricket of Indian cricket teams is rising daily, it is setting new records around the globe
One of the main reasons for the success of cricket in India is its management board, BCCI. As cricket infrastructure and formats in India are significantly developed, it has produced numerous raw talents who emerge as cricketing gems for the country. The quality and quantity of cricketers produced by India are top-notch, which is one of the reasons for India's success. One great example of India's power in the cricketing sphere is the multiple teams and schedule arrangement.
While many teams face problems in forming a balanced playing eleven, India is showcasing its excellence by creating two separate teams with different coaches and schedules. As there have been many different perspectives of experts regarding this, BCCI's this strategy has been a hot topic of debate in the cricketing world. As the teams will be separate, it gives the young talents a wide array of opportunities to showcase their game internationally. Many young talents from the domestic leagues, such as IPL and Ranji, will have an advantage of this strategy by the BCCI. The Board has perfectly balanced each team by making a good combination of youngsters and experts, and shortlisting credible players in each squad gives the squad a strong core. The first time India played with two teams simultaneously was in 1998 when two separate teams played in the Commonwealth Games and Sahara Cup! In the last year, team India also played with two teams, with Shikhar Dhawan as captain of the second team. This turned out to be a great success for the BCCI as both the teams emerged victorious! Simultaneous schedules benefit the youngsters and BCCI. It will also help the Board economically, looking at the economic aspect associated with each tour.
Three tournaments, three teams and two coaches
As the names of the England and Ireland series squad were announced, Indian cricket was heavily praised by many experts for its brilliance. As the side is blessed with numerous match-winners, it was not a big deal for the team to form different teams. Currently, India concluded playing its five matches T20 series against South Africa under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant. The significant aspect of this series was the absence of many star players such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah. Despite not having these stars in the squad, the youngsters-studded Indian team gave a tough fight to South Africa, ending the series with a draw. As soon as this series has finished, the Indian team will lock horns with Ireland and England simultaneously with a different team combination.
India will play two T20 international matches against Ireland next week in Dublin. India has named a 14 members squad for the series under all-rounder Hardik Pandya's leadership and VVS Laxman as the coach. While Hardik Pandya will be leading the side, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will perform the role of vice-captain. This squad will have many young faces such as Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Rahul Tripathi and Umran Malik. While this team will show their brilliance on the Irish soil, another team will have an extensive campaign against England. The team will play three T20 internationals and the re-scheduled fifth test match from the India tour of England in 2021. The BCCI has announced a 17 members squad for this series, and star Rohit Sharma will lead the side. In this 17 players squad, we will witness a new face: Srikar Bharat.
The team's regular coach Rahul Dravid will be coaching for the England series, whereas veteran cricketer VVS Laxman will coach the other team touring Ireland. As the squad was announced for the Ireland series, VVS Laxman was named the team's head coach for the Ireland tour. As both the coaches are from the same cricket generation, the BCCI is looking to maintain a good balance between the two teams. This will turn out as a great asset for Indian cricket.
After 2011, this was the first time that the Indian team was flooded with top-notch players, and it is an excellent sign for the team as the world cup is on its way. Considering the World Cup, forming two teams seems like an impressive strategy by the BCCI, which will help the management pick a perfect eleven for the World Cup.
