Cheteshwar Pujara finding rhythm back in county cricket 

Cheteshwar Pujara had scored six and an unbeaten 201 to help his side draw the game against Derbyshire. The Indian batter is currently in his full flow and is ruling the County Cricket with his brilliant performance.

Challenging phase for the batter for the past two years!

Pujara was the leading run-scorer of the 2018-19 Border-Gavaskar series, where he scored 521 runs in eight innings, which helped India clinch their maiden Test series victory in Australia. However, the batter has only scored 1,287 runs in 27 Tests ever since. The tally includes just 12 half-centuries, with the highest score of 91 runs against England at Leeds. His last ton in international cricket came in January 2019 against Australia. 

Cheteshwar was considered rock in the Indian Test batting, but the past two years have been shaky. A few cracks have started to emerge in his rock-solid defence, and he is repeatedly getting out similarly. The batsman is known for tiring the bowlers out and cashing in in the latter part of the innings. However, in the last two years, the Indian Test team has suffered a batting collapse many times, and the failure of No. 3 Pujara is also one of the primary reasons for that. Pujara's potent had faded, and things were getting pretty down for him. The middle-order batsman went unsold in IPL too. Last year, he was part of Chennai Super Kings in the T20 league. However, he didn't play a single match for the team. This year, no franchise showed interest in picking him as he was out of form in the mega auction.

While Pujara's cricket was dropping day by day, there seemed no way for the batter to make a solid comeback. However, County Cricket was a perfect stage to bounce back from his poor form. The batsman had a great debut in the County Cricket as he scored a double century in his first match. Since then, there has been no stopping for him. He has scored three centuries in his five innings. Looking at what he has gone through in recent times, it is seen that the batsman is finding a perfect rhythm to his batting through County Cricket. Smashing his third consecutive century, the batsman has made a roar in the cricket sphere. With his excellent batting, Pujara is now unstoppable making his hopes to get back on the international side stronger.

The runs will keep Pujara in contention for a place in the Indian squad when Rohit Sharma-led Indian side travels to England for the postponed fifth Test later this year. As Pujara is getting back in his form, we can surely expect this classic batsman to represent the national team.
