The Ashton Turner-led side made a mess of things in their last match against Melbourne Stars. Batsman Josh Inglis scored 74 runs in 33 deliveries, while Faf du Plessis scored 68 runs in 33 balls. Thanks to these knocks, the Scorchers had 229 runs to their credit after 20 overs.
The bowlers also did a good job. Jason Behrendorff picked up three wickets, while Peter Hatzoglou caught two catches.
Despite the big win in the last game, the Scorchers will have it tough against the Strikers. The Peter Siddle-led side may have lost their previous game, but they were very consistent before that. Against the Brisbane Heat, the front row failed to convince, so the pressure fell entirely on the middle row, which eventually was unable to convince either.
Colin de Grandhomme and Thomas Kelly played a good knock, but the team lost by six runs. In the game against the Scorchers, the Strikers will aim for a win to consolidate their position at the top of the table.
Pitching Report: Perth Stadium's turf will support the pacers. It could be challenging for the batters, as anything over 160 is a good score on this pitch. The team that wins the toss could decide to bat first.
