    The Hurricanes got off to a poor start, but Ali almost revived hopes of a comeback before it was too late, with six runs to spare. 

    The Sydney Sixers won the toss and elected to bat first at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Thanks to a 43-run knock from Josh Philippe (21 balls), the Sixers moved to 137/6 with the game reduced to 14 overs apiece due to a rain interruption.

    Besides Philippe, Kurtis Patterson scored 38 runs off 25 balls, and Hayden Kerr contributed with 32 runs off 20 balls. Patrick Dooley and Shadab Khan took two wickets each for the Hurricanes, while James Neesham claimed one wicket. 

    Sixers restricted the Hurricanes to 131/7 in 14 overs in the second innings. Asif Ali scored a quick 41 off just 13 balls but couldn't complete the recovery as Naveen-ul-Haq dismissed him in the final over 

    Before being dismissed, Asif Ali scored 22 runs in a single over as the Hurricanes needed 46 runs off 12 balls to win. However, Naveen dismissed Ali in the last over to help the Strikers win.

    Player of the match: Josh Philippe was named man of the game for his brilliant knock (43 off 21 balls)
