Asia Cup 2022 tournament - India's record in UAE
India will be returning to a cricket venue that, in the past years, has emerged as the storehouse of countless cricketing memories for cricketers and fans. Asia Cup 2022 will return to UAE on the 27th of August
In stadiums of Sharjah and Dubai, Indian cricketing folklore has etched many memories, be it Javed Miandad's last ball six against Chetan Sharma or Sachin Tendulkar's form revival century.
In the previous outing in 2018, India emerged successful as they returned with the Asia Cup title owing to a match-winning cameo by Dinesh Karthik.
India has played 5 T20Is in UAE, of which they have won 3 and lost 2. Of these two, one was lost against their arch-rival Pakistan, and the other was against New Zealand.
While the winning percentage in T20I has been 60 for the Men in Blue, it is just 51.25 in ODIs in UAE. Of the 80 ODIs played there, 38 were lost, Pakistan being the major contributor to India's loss. Pakistan has defeated India in 19 matches, whereas India could win only nine against them in a 50-over format at the venue.
Pakistan has always been a side to defeat at the venue for India, and the latter side, having won the tournament seven times, has already set the bar high. The Asia Cup will be a tight battle looking at India's record and Pakistan players' current form.
