Asia Cup 2022 Championship: The Group of Death
The forthcoming cricketing event of Asia Cup 2022 is all set to entertain cricket fans across the globe starting from 27th August
The six teams are divided into two groups that will be contesting in the tournament for the title. Group A consists of India, Pakistan and the Winner of the Asia Cup qualifier round, whereas Group B consist of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
From each group, two teams will progress towards the Super Four round and play against each other in a round-robin format. While in Group A, it's pretty sure that India and Pakistan will progress in the next round, Group B looks more competitive.
Group B features former finalists Bangladesh, rising star Afghanistan and 5-time champion Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh's 17-member squad highlights their strength in the form of returning experienced players and a diversified bowling attack that they carrying. Their top run-scorers against Sri Lanka and Afghanistan have been Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mahmudullah reflecting their attacking mindset for the tournament.
Afghanistan has played Asia Cup only twice, and that too in the ODI format, out of which they made it to the top 4 one time. This is the first time that they will play in the T20 format. They have the best T20 format bowler Rashid Khan who keeps the potential of being a game changer and is their biggest strength.
