IPL 2022: CSK Concerned over Moeen Ali’s Delay in Arrival Due to Visa
The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are concerned about the presence of England’s all-rounder Moeen Ali following visa complications.
Moeen Ali is awaiting approval from the Indian High Commission in the United Kingdom after being retained by the four-time winners for INR 8 crore before the major auction last month.
For the previous month, the Yellow Army has been holding training camps in Surat in preparation for the season's commencement. The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) is also alleged to be supporting CSK with the Moeen Ali situation.
The Indian Premier League's brand new season is expected to begin on March 26. The addition of two extra teams will intensify the battle, making it a more thrilling version. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will face off in the season's first match.
The arrival of Moeen's visa has been delayed, according to CSK Chief Executive Kasi Viswanathan. "On February 28, he applied for his visa. The application has been submitted for more than 20 days. He has traveled to India several times but has failed to obtain travel documents.”
"We're hopeful he'll be able to join us shortly." "He's assured us that as soon as he gets the paperwork, he'll catch the following flight," Viswanathan added. Apart from Moeen, MS Dhoni and all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja were retained by CSK. Ali was purchased for INR 7 crores by the franchise in 2021, after three seasons with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
"We're confident the problem will be rectified soon," a Titans official was quoted as saying about Naim's arrival. Naim was previously involved with the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise. Manhas, on the other hand, is a Jammu native who has played for the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings). He is now a member of the state team of J&K.
Since the previous month, in preparation for the next season. While MS Dhoni, Robin Uthappa, and Ambati Rayudu started training earlier this month, the rest of the domestic players and international stars have begun to arrive.
A member of the Gujarat Titans coaching staff was stuck in London in a similar instance, according to Cricbuzz. Abdul Naim of the United Kingdom and Mithun Manhas of Delhi have joined the franchise. Naim has been waiting for his travel authorization, and the Titans are hopeful that the problem will be rectified shortly.
