P V Sindhu has beaten Canadian Michelle Li by 21-15 and 21-13. It was PV Sindhu's first CWG singles gold medal for PV Sindhu. She won the bronze in 2014 and silver in 2018 and has completed the set. It is her first singles gold and her second gold overall, having been part of the Indian team that won the mixed event.
Some anxious moments during the match about an injury before the game could have hampered movements against Canadian Michelle Li in the finale. Still, the Indian ace made significant adjustments after some unsettling moments. She made the right calls on crucial points and put up a masterclass to dominate her opponent today.
Lakshya Sen has won the men's single gold medal. He has beaten Tze Yong Ng of Malasyia 19-21, 21-9 and 21-16 . 20-year-old badminton prodigy lost the first set but came back sensationally by taking the second set and then won the third set by 21-16.
