Badminton News: Major badminton competitions in 2023
Badminton fans have a lot to look forward to in 2023 because it will host several major tournaments, including the Asian Games
The year 2022 will always be cherished by Indian badminton lovers. The sport achieved new heights due to numerous athletes winning numerous medals and placing well in various contests.
India's historic maiden victory at the Thomas Cup was the most significant accomplishment. The men showed unwavering courage as they secured a significant victory that was applauded by the entire nation, with even the Prime Minister recognising the enormous achievement.
Another noteworthy accomplishment occurred at the Commonwealth Games when India won six medals in badminton, which was a record for them in the sport's tournament.
PV Sindhu won the gold medal in the women's singles event at the inaugural ever Commonwealth Games, and she also placed second in the mixed team competition.
Lakshya Sen had an outstanding year, winning gold at the CWG and becoming the third Indian man in history (behind Prakash Padukone and Pullela Gopichand) to reach the prestigious All England Open final. Satwiksairaj Rankireddy became the first Indian men's doubles pair to win a gold at the Commonwealth Games.

The biggest tournament this year will be the Asian Games 2023 which will take place in Huangzhou, China.
The tournament was supposed to be held in 2022 after the Commonwealth Games but was postponed due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
