These interesting trials led to the selection of many new faces in the women's category. The same trial results will be used to finalise the players for the Asian Games, and the Olympics of 2024.

As a result of the trials, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have been selected in the category of men's doubles and Lakshya Sen and Kidambi Srikanth in men's singles. In the women's category, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand will be playing the doubles and Aakarshi Kashyap and Sindhu will be playing the singles. In the mixed doubles category, B Sumeeth Reddy and Ashwini Ponnappa have been selected to represent the country.

Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy were earlier selected for the additional spots available in the women's doubles for the Asian Games and Uber Cup but due to a severe injury suffered by Reddy in the abdomen, the duo had to withdraw from the games. BAI, while talking about the trials and the selections revealed, "N Sikki Reddy has suffered a Grade 2 Tear of the Abdomen (abdominus rectus) as confirmed by an MRI and has been advised 4-6 week rest by the doctor."

Based on the ranking of the Badminton World Federation, about 60 players were invited to the trials. These ranks were calculated according to the 2021 ranking tournaments. The invitations were sent out on April 1 and the players were supposed to confirm their presence by April 10. Saina Nehwal didn't confirm her presence as the trials clashed with the Korean Open, leaving many good players out of these important trials.

Saina Nehwal, who is the best women's badminton player in India at the moment, said that the timing of the trials is such that it'll put undue stress on the bodies of the players who have played the Europe Tournaments and who are going to play the Asian Championships. Saina told ESPN, "Two weeks after the European tournaments and a week and a half before the Asian Championships, I didn't want to put my body through another set of matches. I can't take that chance." To protect herself and her body from going through this pressure and stress, Nehwal withdrew from the trials and never sent her confirmation. Saina's withdrawal though led to many new faces emerging in the trials.
